Parshas Tzav

"After what I did yesterday, I think that I should do the world a favor
and not get out of bed today."

Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch has a fascinating insight into the service
done in the Mishkan, Tabernacle. (Vayikra 6:4) Every day, the first thing
the Kohane (priest in the Mishkan) did was remove the ashes from the
previous day's sacrifice. This, Rav Hirsch explains, symbolizes that our
service to G-d today, starts a fresh new slate . Never feel shackled to
yesterday's mistakes, nor think that because yesterday you did well that you
are automatically going to succeed today !!

As the old ad said :"Today is the first day of the rest of your life".

Have a great Shabbos !!

Rabbi Chaim Flom
