Parshas Bereishis
"Here's the beautiful bathroom fixture you ordered for your new house." "I told you that I decided not to build the new house: Why would I need the new fixture?" "I (G-d) will obliterate humanity that I created, from the face of the earth: man, livestock, land animals, and birds." (Biraishis 6:7) (G-d said this before He brought the flood in Noah's time.) Rashi asks why did G-d want to wipe out the animals--they didn't sin? He answers "Everything was created for man--since man was being obliterated there was no need for animals." The Gemara (Sanhedrin 37a) says that the world was created with just one person (Adam) to show us that the entire creation was worth being made for one person!! G-d created the world just for YOU !!! That thought makes the excuse "I'm only human" pretty silly. Have a great Shabbos !! Rabbi Chaim Flom __________________________________________________ This message has been edited.
