Parshas Vaeschanan
"I can't understand why he acts almost as though he isn't my son." "Maybe because you act almost as though you're not his father." "And you shall teach your sons..." (Divorim 6:7) Rashi says "This refers to students who are called sons. And just like students are called sons, teachers are called parents." While explaining our verse, what compels Rashi to say "teachers are called parents"? I think that Rashi is teaching us that our students are like our children when we act like their parents !! To be successful in the parent/child or teacher/student relationship: remember--it's a two way street. Have a great Shabbos !! |
