Succos
"Wow !!! He gave me a present, and look what it is!!" "I guess you must think that he and his gift are special." In our prayers, Succos is referred to as "the time of happiness" (Pesach is "the time of redemption" and Shavuos is "the time when the Torah was given"). Rabbeinu Asher (Succos 3:26) says that Succos is "the time of happiness" because it follows Yom Kippur, the day we receive atonement from G-d. Do you appreciate G-d's gift of your clean slate?? Have a great Succos !! Rabbi Chaim Flom _________________________________________________________ |

Shalom
Yes, and Sucot holds a meaning that conects us to the begining. that divine nature that holds reassurance of the brits ( covenant) to maintain G-d presence in Eret´z. The hapiness of being teshuva and washed by the water of salvation. we are aware that by giving up attitudes that takes us far apart from shejina will rise our souls eventually to be checked okey for entrance into the hapiness of kabbalah. This will certainly hold the greatness of words of wisdom. The preparation for the giving of The Torah as a unified code of divinity that tells us the miracle of discovering what was already created by our most loable friend, father, king and master Ad-ai. Shema Adonai alohenu adonai ejad. Baruk Shem kevod malkuto leolam vaed. |

Dear Rabbi Flom,
As I've said a few times, I appreciate your dvar Torah greatly, but as I've asked before about the applications of some of your dvar Torahs, and you've answered whatever I asked about: How do I feel the simcha of Hashem's atonement? I can't imagine that I am the only reader who the day after Yom Kippur was NOT jumping for joy because I was forgiven. Sincerely, Mark |

Dear Mark,
Thanks for the letter. I never claimed that reaching the ultimate perfection of my dvar Torah is easy!! HA !!Amongst other things, it should at least tell us what we are SUPPOSED TO strive for. Once I am aware of what a goal is, if I think about it and try to internalize it, then I'm at least on the right road. ie.The more I am aware that I just got forgiveness, obviously, the happier I should be. Try to think about an aveira (sin) that you've done. If I ask Hashem for forgiveness, and am genuinely sorry for what I've done, and try not doing it again, HASHEM FORGIVES ME !!!! If I would punch someone in the nose, and break it, and ask for forgiveness, he still has a broken nose. But with Teshuva from Hashem-- a good Teshuva eradicates the sin !!! That is certainly is cause for happiness!! Take care. Rabbi Flom |
