Ki Sisa
"The leader of Israel's Orthodox Jewry lived in this house?? This is the simplest house I've ever seen !!" (A non-religious reporter at the funeral of Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach.) When G-d told Moshe that He was going to wipe out Bnai Yisroel (the Jews) for the sin of the "golden calf", Moshe said "wipe me out from Your book" (Shmos 32:32). The Sforno explains Moshe's plea as " use all of my merits that I have to live, and apply them instead to Bnai Yisroel that they should live". In a day and age where we see heads of states and companies being concerned primarily with their own honor and wealth even at the expense of others, we should remember what our Torah views as proper Jewish values. Have a great Shabbos and freilichen Purim !! Rabbi Chaim Flom |

Shalom
My respects, Do you feel selfish feeling and egoism toward our fellows aparts us from jewish values? Should we love and help our brother as one of our family since we all come from the same ancestor Abraham? Are jewish values being set apart from what originally they were built for as ways of being able to close gap in this world to outreach the presence of the ethernal?. Probably, a kind action by a jewish soul will put a tiny small rock toward making a right way This certainly will make a difference. kol Tuv. |

Shalom Rabbi Mitterhoff:
Oh well I am sorry I lost the idea It´s been past a few days. Any way, I was trying to make a point emphasizing in the importance of getting rid of egoism toward our fellow brother to enhance the meaning of living in community. Do you think that if we worry about the honor and wealth of the community (jewish or gentile) shall we be honoring the rock of jewish values and principles of faith? Is there any remarks in the Talmud that deals with this point? I would like to know the Tractate to go over it. Thank you very much. Lej leshalom |

Dear Ochoa,
I am not exactly sure what you thought my dvar Torah said. Yes, I do believe that if someone is willing to ruin someone else's life (even to a little degree)for his own honor or wealth, then he ISN'T living up to proper Jewish values. If you still have a question, please let me know. Thank you. Chaim Flom |
