Parshas Vayeira

When I was thirty year's old, I went to Sheldon Beren's home (a great
philanthropist, of blessed memory) for a donation for the Yeshiva I
co-founded,Yeshiva Or David. He didn't know me, and I certainly wasn't the
only one coming for Tzedaka, yet the first thing he did was sit me down and
gave me a drink and cake.

The Torah goes to great lengths to tell us the efforts Avraham and Sara
went to, in order to feed their guests. Then the Torah says " And Avraham
stood over them" (Biraishis 18:8) which Onkelos explains as "to serve
them" the food.

Never think that doing an act of kindness yourself is beneath your
dignity !!
