Parshas Biraishis
"Of course I daven (pray) and even learn daily, but being a plumber doesn't give me a spiritual buzz (lift)." "And Chanoch walked with G-d." (Biraishis 5:24) The Medrash says that Chanoch was a shoemaker, who as he stitched the shoes, had "elevated" thoughts. Rav Yisroel Salanter explains that the elevated thoughts were "that each stitch should be strong, the shoes should be good, and the owner should derive pleasure from them". Making sure that we're honest dealing with our employers and employees is part of the key to "walking with G-d" !! Have a great Shabbos !!
