Parshas Titzaveh

" Last week I realized something I never knew before. Daddy doesn't
like Grandpa .As soon as Grandpa walked in, Dad zipped out of there."
" You couldn't be more mistaken. We didn't know Grandpa was coming, so
Dad went out to make him a cup of coffee and get his bed ready."

Rav Moshe Feinstein zt"l, has a fascinating essay about the symbolisms
of the Menorah (candelabra) in the Mishkan (Tabernacle) that we use in
education. Only pure olive oil was used in the Menorah.(Shemos 27:21) Rav
Moshe says that when teaching, the lessons must be so clear and pure that
the student doesn't misunderstand it. Our children, students and friends
learn from us. We should make sure that even our good actions convey the
correct message!!

What will others learn from your actions ??

That, surely, is the message for the child. Rabbi Flom's message was, however, for the father.

Dear Mark,
I just want to add something to what Yisroel Phillips (and I)already wrote (that it is true that people have to judge me favorably, but I still must to my utmost that people shouldn't learn bad things from me or about me.) I might have mentioned it a while back on a different Parsha.
I once heard a fantastic tape from a Rebbetzin Greenberg. She was dealing with Taharas Hamishpacha. She was on a non-frum kibbutz and met a European lady whose father was a Chassidishe Rebbe. When Rebbetzin Greenberg talked about women going to the Mikva, this lady said that her mother never went, because she would have heard about it. Rebbetzin Greenberg made a point that even though it is true that going to a mikva should be done with tznius, a mother should let their daughters know. I've heard similar ideas about parents doing chessed and giving tzedaka. It should done modestly, but your kids should learn from you.
