"If you don't eat your potatoes, I'll never let you go to grandpa's house again."

"He shall not profane (break) his word. Whatever comes out of his mouth, he shall do."(Bimidbar 30:3)

Judaism does not believe that "talk is cheap" or that words are "dime a dozen". When we tell the truth, keep our word, don't speak slander or foul
language, we elevate ourselves in the eyes of G-d and man.
