Rashi (Bimidbar 13:2) says "Why was the episode of the spies (who were
punished for their bad report about Israel) placed next to the episode of
Miriam, who was punished for speaking badly about Moshe? These evil people
saw what happened to Miriam, and didn't learn a lesson."

We can hear it, read it, see it, and say it : If it doesn't penetrate
our hearts and minds : We've lost it !!

In America Shavuos was a Friday and Shabbos, but on Shabbos you didn't lein Naso, because you leined Shavuos leining. In Israel, that Shabbos we leined Naso.You people (outside of Israel)"catch up" to us (in Israel) when you read Chukas-Balak, and we just read Balak.
Actually, Chukas _Balak is the double parsha that we don't have in Israel. All the other ones we have because for example on a leap year (an extra month) you have 4 extra Shabbosim of Torah reading. Also when Yom Tovim don't fall out on Shabbos , you have more Shabbosim of Parshas reading. But the maximum amount of double parshas needed in Israel is 8, but in America it is 9.

Dear Tzivy,
The Gemara (Erchin 15a) says explicitly that speaking Loshon Hora about a person is worse than speaking bad about Israel(which it refers to as "trees and stones".
