Parshas Chayei Sara
"I'll never get an A on this test anyhow, so I might as well go out for dinner instead of studying." "She (Rivka) quickly emptied her jug into the trough and ran to the well to draw water. She drew water for all of his (Eliezer's) camels." (Biraishis 24:20) Rabbeinu Bachya says that it was physically impossible for her to carry all this water-only a miracle made it possible. Even though her goal of giving drink to all of Eliezer's camels was not really feasible, she did whatever she could. "It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work, yet you are not free to not do the work. (Pirkei Avos 2:19) Have a great Shabbos !! Rabbi Chaim Flom |
