Parshas Vayakhel-Pikudei
"Well Mr. Lay and Mr. Skilling, the Enron statistics are all in, and you've had another great year" said Joseph Berardino, CEO of Arthur Anderson Accounting. [Enron collapsed because of false records.] "These are the sums of the (materials used for the) Mishkan, Tabernacle..." (Shemos 38:21) According to the Medrash Rabba, some people thought that Moshe took some of the materials donated to the Mishkan for himself. Therefore the Torah shows us how all of the donations were used. It wasn't just that the records seemed good: Moshe was squeaky clean. How good will your records be in G-d's audit?? Have a great Shabbos !! Rabbi Chaim Flom ________________________________________________________ |

Dear Rabbi Flom,
Unbelievable that people should suspect Moshe !! Sincerely, Mark |

Is there commentary on the haftorah which speaks of entrusting the chest of money to the carpenters who worked on repairing the Beis HaMikdash which indicates that the workers might otherwise be suspect?
Isn't it more likely that these passukim also speak to the accounting viz the workers' honesty? |
