Chaya is an 18-year old, who was studying in the Bat Tzion program at Orot Women's College in Elkana, Israel until the week of Parshat Zachor of this year (5766). At that time she began experiencing headaches, was quickly diagnosed with a growth in her brain and returned to her family in Chicago for surgery and treatment. Surgery on Purim day succeeded in removing over 85% of the growth and releiving her intense pain, B"H, but the pathology showed that she has a high-grade malignancy that requires aggressive treatment. Chaya is now in the midst of a six week course of daily radiation and chemotherapy and continues to require Tehilim and prayers.
