. Shlomo HaMelech (Solomon the King) wrote in Shir Hashirim (Song of songs, Canticles) “vehanitzanim nyroo vaaretz eys hazamir hegia, veqol hator nishma b'artzenu,†meaning (as rendered by the Artscroll literal translation), "The blossoms have appeared in the land, the time of singing has come, and the voice o the turtledove is heard in the land."
Rav Chaim Vital (the main disciple of the Holy Ari Z"L) said that the last generation before the geula (final redemption) will learn that Tehillim (Psalms) is the way out of all problems. The Pardes Menachem explains that that is hinted in the above-quoted pasuk. After "the time of the zemiros has arrived," vekol hator nishma beartzenu- Moshiach will come. And like the blogosphere is reporting (did I just call DovBear the blogosphere?) a new site was opened today: Tehillim Today. Davening will help us bring this final geula. In this verse, however, there is another condition that needs to be fufilled before "the time of singing arrives" that is, "vehanitzanim nireu baaretz", when is that? Have we gotten there yet? Have the "blossoms appeared in the land?" We don’t know, but one thing we do know is that Nitzanim (the place to where they plan to put the settlers from Gaza) nireu baarets (has been seen) in our days. In fact, a part of the Disengagement is the recently approved Nitzanim Plan |
