What did the Macebees do that they should deserve to experience such a miracle?

When the Macabees decided to take on the Greeks,
did the Jews expect to win. No way.

The Greek Empire was the most powerful military machine the world had ever seen.

But winning wasn't the point.

The Greeks had attacked the Jews at their core . Right down to the fundamentals of our beliefs.
There was no room for compromise.

We'd all rather compromise than confront. To a certain point.

But not always and not with all people. Some people at some point say, " That's it, enough! "
This is the limit and from here we won't retreat.

Winning?............That's not my department. That's G-d's decision.
If we will be successful............or not...........we still have to take a stand.

The odds are against us, we can't beat these guys. It's certain death.....but something must be done.

Their red line was a life according to the Torah.

What was G-d's answer..............victory.

And then the sign. Because you Jews stood up for my Torah and were willing to give it your all
because you understood what I really want from you,
and you put yourselves on the line for it..............

Watch.....a miracle.......physical reality is all in my hands.
A Little oil can burn for 8 days. Scientifically impossible...........yes.
But the scientific viewpoint is limited. Their logic, facts and figures sound broad, all-knowing
but in fact are very tunnel visioned.

You stood up for My Laws, the Torah, for HaShem
I'll show you now in hard cold reality the breath and depth of those laws.
A miracle.

If you hadn't stood up and taken a stand
I wouldn't have broadcast such an inexplicable happening. .

And even if I would have caused the candles to burn inexplicably anyway,
without your prior commitment
it wouldn't have meant that much to you.

You acted, you saw..........you understood.
On that foundation, all Jews light the lights and sing the Almighty's praises for 8 days year in and year out.

Happy Chanukah
