Shavuos

" It wasn't a gimmick. He really was excited about being able to give
us a meal, and it was great."

"Because a) you helped your mother-in-law after her husband died and b)
you were willing to give up being the princess, forsaking your parents'
home, and leaving your homeland to convert, you will merit having prophets
and kings come from you" Boaz told Rus (Ruth). (Yonason ben Uziel on Ruth
2:11) My illustrious Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Henoch Leibowitz shli"ta, asked that
her two merits hardly seem comparable. Of course, helping her mother-in-law
is a great chessed (act of kindness), but in her conversion, she gave up all
of her family, wealth, and friends to go to a strange land ?? Rav Leibowitz
says that a chessed done with sincere and noble intentions has incredible
power.

Have a great Yom Tov !!
