What is the History of the Jelly Donut in Jewish Tradition?

I don't think the filling is of any significance; it's the donut itself, as it is cooked in oil. Latkes are also eaten as they are cooked in oil.

Thank you Yisroel...i understand now, oil is the miricle, so it is celebrated on Hunnukah in many ways...even jelly donuts Smile

Scrambled eggs can also be used on Chanukah too, as it can be cooked in olive oil.

I was in the store the other day buying donuts and the grocer said that they are good, and I said, yea, till after Chanukah. It's like eating Hamantashen after Purim Smile

Very interesting, as I don't agree with what they found to be #1 as such. From what I'm used to as being the #1 popular flavor, growing up with, is #7 in the chart quoted in the link above.

I wonder about the poll and if it was a true sample etc. Difficuty
