Quote "but I think the Halacha is that there is only a presumption that it is bug infested (and therefore forbidden to be eaten) if you find 3 bugs (3 makes a Chazaka - presumption)." Of course your thinking of the Mechaber in YD 100:4 where it says such a Halacha. But what perplexes me in the Shaila, to what difference is that it’s a infestation? The Halacha over there is talking about when it was already cooked and is impossible to separate, which over here it the Shaila, as I read it, seems that it’s before cooking and she’s doing the process of checking and removing the bugs. So maybe, in cases of "infestation," some advise in certain cases that the best is to throw it out, since it’s too difficult to make sure all it was strained and separated. Then I would say the definition must be that it must be many of them, more than 3. It sometimes is relevant to your location how the bugs exist in that region, so the procedure might be different in different parts of the world. Quote "are you allowed to kill the bug?" If you strained it right before Shabbos, you should refrain from killing it until after Shabbos. Otherwise, be my guest.

Rav Chaim, Thank you, you're right I was asking about infestation, because in Rav Vaye's book, he writes that if you find infestation in rice you shouldn't use it. And I was wondering if finding 1 bug is considered finding infestation. What you say makes sense, because if it is only 1 bug, then it isn't 'infested' to the degree where it is too difficult to clean. Btw, I am in Israel.
