AIDS is affecting our world. Is AIDS said in the Torah or Talmud?

Could Job's disease have been AIDS? He had lesions and so do AIDS victims.

I don't know why my head is playing games with me, but the red heifer offering also comes to mind. The Tahor and Tamay part. It probably has absolutely nothing to do with AIDS but I Just thought that it could be an analogy, if applied to the subject.

People who worry about such things, think the gemara about a "deadly" woman is referring to AIDS. This is women who has had two husbands which died. She is not permitted to married a third time.
As one can imagine, this lead to numerous questions in latter generation following massive plagues and wars and stuff and various solutions were found. Does it only apply when she is somehow responsible or even if external causes are clear? I have not heard of any recent cases so I think it is moot.

It's an interesting question, Raybin. But AIDS is a very modern disease and only started affecting humans in very recent history (the last quarter of the 20th century). I'm sure there were diseases similar to it though.

When I wrote "is AIDS said" I meant was it prophesied. I am aware of how new AIDS apparently is, but anything is or was humanly possible. AIDS could have occured at any time if Hashem allowed it.

In the book "Between The Lines - Secrets of the Torah Codes" written by, Dr. Robert Wolf and Joel Gallis, Published by "Pischei Olam Publishers" - (C) 1999 [ISBN 1-58330-172-0].

To Quote from page 96:

3. The Torah only refers to the sin of homosexuality in one verse, Leviticus (18:22)
"כב "ואת-זכר לא תשכב משכבי אשה תועבה הוא "You shall not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; it is an abomination." Incredibly the Torah Codes reveal that the word אדז (Aids), appears in code precisely in this verse which describes the sin of homosexuality. Moreover, the letter "ז" in the word אדז corresponds to the letter ז of the word זכר (Male.)

End of quote.
