To see the list posts that have been made so far you can go here. Angel

I would like to start this post as a place for members to list any Torah sources they have on the subject of giving honor to Torah Scholars. This is a very impotent foundation on which the Global Yeshiva is built and should help set the correct "tone" for the whole site. Cool

Hakuzari Hameforash

Anyone who will scrutinize the Mishnah, with it's terseness of language and the beauty of composition and editing, and its incorporation of opinions with decisions, will come to the inevitable conclusion that mortal man could not compose {a work of} this kind without Divine assistance. Only a person who does not understand the Mishnah, does not read it and is not occupied with its study, will hear the homiletics of the Sages [and deem them strange]; he will disdain the Mishnah and judge it unfairly. He will decide that those who made these statements did so out of ignorance and without sufficient preparation and study, just like one who meets a person the extent of whose knowledge is not known to him, if he hears something strange from him and decides that the speaker is in error.

Le´YaYim

" you shall be holy , for I The Lord your G-D am Holy". Vaiykra 19: 1-2. The principal objective of existence ought to be the accomplishment of feeling fear of Holyness of G-dly garments as the basis of the Tree of life.
Sholomo Ha´Melech great wisdom compared the Torah wisdom to Eitz Chaim. So The Almighty blessed be he, considers our sages as closer to the ways of the almighty and certainly holy and aged more in wisdom than in time.

Vaiykra 19:32, " you shall rise before the elder"- Mipnei seiva Takum.

hadarat penai zaken. The active attitude of respect toward a jew that has achieved the ways of holy stage should be honored as fear of G-d.

The Zohar states that " but the path of just man is like the gleam of sunlight that shines ever more brightly until the height of noonday"
Misheli 4:18.

It is the way of life the right commandment to love and respect all jew as one choosen by the great king blessed be he. The faith and the action comes down to Shalom which comes from the root " Shalaim" complete in order to be holy a jew has to be complete, allowing this status to recieve ahavah- love. This two words have value 13 which add up to 26, The numerical value of our Lord, blessed be he, in hebrew.

Rabeinu Yonah in Shaarei tshuva, shaar hashlishi, writes that a person should take extreme care that all his words be a kiddush Hashem, and 'to speak in praise of His service and...to praise His servant and those who fear Him, and he shall merit with these thoughts of his heart and his words--without any effort or toil, a tremendous merit that reaches to the heavens, because this is one of the main purposes of man's creation.
