Shalom, so I was discussing some talmud with a friend and we couldnt come to a consensus. I work night shift at work from 11pm to 7am, and I sleep from about 3pm to 10pm more or less, my question is when would be appropriate times to daven, because if I do my morning tefillah after work at about 7ish(am) it is in the middle of my day, and if I also say my mid-day amidah at noonish then it is rather close to my evening, and then my evening prayers around 10pm would in theory be morning prayers for me. Hm, this is quite a problem for me, not that they are so very differant, but the main thing lies in weather or not i should say my midday amidah at the middle of my day, which would be around 3am. My reasoning is that since the shema says "when you lie down and when you rise up" that I should say my morning tefillah at 10pm and my evening one around 3pm, but I would like to get another opinion. Thank you.

Keep on saying the way you used to. T'filah is definitly defined by the times of the day (Es Erev Boker V'tzarayim) thus it has nothing to do with your scheduale. Even Krias Shma that seems to give the time of getting up or laying down, but it's not a personal getting up and going to sleep, but the general times that the world does it. This seems like the whole thrust of the 1st Mishna of B'rachos. When does the time that Krias Shma Starts? If it's depends on the indivisual how can you give a time. So the Mishna is telling you what is the average, so you'll know , even if it's not your scheduale
