quote:
The Queen of Sheba's final question to King Solomon (after a virtual interrogation of many questions - all of which he answered perfectly) was:

"Art thou then the Messiah who is wont to come into the world?"

Answered the king:

"Let not thy countenance be distraught, O fair queen, that God hath chosen to impart wisdom unto his subjects. For he is the God who made heaven and earth, and we are his people. Is it not then commensurable with his excellence to make me a king of his people? Yet, even so, I am not he whom thou seekest."

This is an interesting story David Ben-Avraham has posted in the globalyeshiva directory. This quote is taken from the very end of the midrashic story.

For as wise as King Solomon was, he apparently forgot that recognition is a woman's strength => and is a (feminine) function of hod/acknowledgment. He should have asked the Queen if he was (the messiah) or not. Bad move Solomon.

See, even King Solomon had the male "I will not ask for directions" gene Wink - as they have all the answers (to any question the Queen of Sheba could come up).
