Ah, but that's not the question. The question was why is Chanukah 8 days, when the there was suffiucient oil to burn for 1 day and so the miracle was apparently on 7 days.

I believe there is a Sefer which gives over 100 answers to this question.

Actually, a friend of mine showed me a Sefer on Chanuka that was brought to him from his son-in-law from Israel "hot off the press" that brings 500 of them. (I guess it must be inflation )
