Im having trouble understanding a certain gemara in Mesechtas Taanis - the gemara is on 2b
There is a machlokes between R Yehudah Ben Besairah and Rav Akiva about when we start to say Mashiv haruach Umorid Hageshem R yehudah says that we start saying it on the 2nd day of Succos because the Nesech Hamayim starts on the second day(he has a remez for it) and Rav Akiva says itso n the sixth because when it says Libations in the torah by the sixth day it says it in plural My question is is that it says in the Torah that there are libations every day and they start on the first day(see Bamidbar) so how could R yehudah and Rav Akiva both say that the Libations start on different days? Thanks |

The libations which are written in the Torah are referring to wine libations. The water libations on Succos have no explicit source in the Torah and are learned from the remez Mem Yud Mem (water). R Yehudah Ben Besairah and Rav Akiva are arguing about the remez. Sorry for the delay in responding.
If not now, when? |

Thanks Alot - thats what i thought but i wasnt so sure
So they are all arguing on when the libations start and hence Gevurus Geshomim starts on that day? |
